Got a question?

Some of the things I'm most often asked...

A deposit of £100 will secure a date in my diary, this is of course taken off your balance on the wedding day.

No dates are guaranteed without a deposit. Popular dates are first come first serve.

Deposits are non refundable.

I always custom blend foundations, so if your skin is a darker shade on your wedding day than it was at our trial run I will simply adjust your base to match.

My kit is built up of professional make up and skin care products. Largely MAC, Bobbi Brown, Charlotte Tilbury, Christian Dior, Urban Decay, Laura Mercier, Illamasqua and many more. Sometimes a few drug store rivals too!

I am pleased to say this is something I have never encountered, and I’ve worked with over 200 brides. If, under really exceptional circumstances, I had to cancel a wedding booking (and I stress, this has NEVER happened before) every effort would be made to find to an alternative stylist. If this is not possible, or is unacceptable to the client, 100% of the deposit and any monies already paid towards wedding day services will be refunded.

Your trial will ideally take place about three months before your wedding day.
I have found that brides seem comforted to know that all their hair and make up details have been thought through and plans are in place by then: they can relax in the weeks leading up to their big day knowing that this major consideration has been taken care of. Should you be anxious to meet with me sooner, or are unavailable til nearer the wedding date that’s also fine. I’m happy to accomodate your needs. There is no right or wrong.

As you can imagine the very nature of my job means I have very little weekend availability because of actual wedding bookings (especially April-October). Weekend trial appointments are by request and carry a £50 supplement.

Please contact me early to book in for Spring and Autumn trials.

During the Summer months when we have good available daylight I can offer late afternoon / early evening sessions. A good option if you can finish work early one day. If you are able to meet with me midweek I am usually able to offer much more flexibility on dates.

I am based in Guildford and due to high demand in this area I mostly cover weddings within a 10 mile radius. However, I am happy to consider commissions further a field.

Train fares, flights, hotels, congestion charge and car parking to be negotiated with the client.

Not at all, my range of work is extensive. I  offer ‘Glamovers’ for special events, proms, balls, parties, even important interviews. Treat yourself to the ultimate hair & make-over and make it one to remember!

One-to-one make up tuition is another popular request. I offer bespoke lessons – anything from make up bag edit, to understanding your features and how best to flatter them, practising new techniques, mastering a quick everyday make up or learning a smoky eye –  the criteria is entirely up to you. You can double up with a like minded friend and share a fun joint session if your prefer.

Yes, I usually meet at the Bride’s home, or I can travel to your parent’s if that’s more local . Sometimes it’s helpful for you to have Mum on hand with an opinion too.

I’m lucky to have a great network of talented hair and make up colleagues who I regularly work with on larger bookings. I can take care of instructing an additional artist to work with me and will coordinate our timings so we work efficiently alongside one another to have you all looking gorgeous and ready on time. Additional travel costs may incur for extra artists to reach your venue depending on location.

I understand that having a larger bridal party means the costs quickly add up, however a large party means extra admin for me bringing extra artists on board and creatively directing the team so everyone’s looks are cohesive. Precise scheduling is put in place so  you are all ready on time in a calm, relaxed way. I believe is worth every penny for the value we bring with our many years of training, experience and expertise, so for that reason, no I don’t discount the prices.

Unfortunately certain venues do only allow late morning access to their bridal prep rooms. This is definitely something worth checking with your venue. It’s not ideal and can cause disruption to the morning because hair and make up preparation often has to be split between two venues resulting in extra set up / pack down and travel time eating into the morning. But we always find a solution! Please advise me early on if you think this might apply to you and I can quote according to your specifics. Additional ‘split venue prep’ charges will apply for all artists involved.

Although you may happily sport a bare face in everyday life, this isn’t just any day we are talking about!  Wearing a large expanse of ivory / white fabric it can be the case that a completely nude face would look washed out and featureless.

Since this is a day when you will want to look your most radiant, I cannot emphasise enough the benefits of a very light and natural make up to ensure you look your very best.

I certainly empathise with the ‘make up virgin’ and promise to deliver a look that not only feels comfortable on your skin but looks just like you with that extra special ‘glow’.

In some instances yes, but this is generally for bright studios or theatre, so assuming you aren’t going to be under heavy lighting on this day, your make up should be subtle enough to look natural to the naked eye yet with enough definition to bring out your features in photographs.

This is no time for ‘game show host’ levels of foundation!

My aim is to create a flawless complexion with some expertly applied colour to strengthen eyes, cheeks and lips.
